History of Taipei City Zoo
The Taipei City Zoo is located in Wanxingli, Wenshan District, Taipei. The whole park covers an area of 165 hectares. It was founded in the Japanese occupation period in 1914. The site was located in Yuanshan, a government-run zoo. Birds, mammals, and reptiles were exhibited at the site. Lord, the most famous animal, was an orangutan.
